ON April 21, 2021, the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) found that the U.S. mattress industry has been materially injured by reason of unfairly traded imports of mattresses from China, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Serbia, Thailand, Turkey and Vietnam. This follows the US Department of Commerce’s (DOC) announcement last month of its final determinations in the antidumping and countervailing duty investigations of mattresses imported from these countries. The ITC will issue its formal written decision in these cases in the coming weeks, which will be followed by DOC issuing antidumping and countervailing duty orders, which will conclude these proceedings.
