CA AB 1817 would prohibit the sale in California of textiles containing per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS).   Manufacturers of the covered products are further required to use the least toxic alternative to PFAS.  Textiles are defined to include apparel, furnishings and bedding.  It is currently unclear if bedding includes mattresses. The bill will be heard next Thursday in the Environmental Safety and Toxic Materials Committee.
