As previously reported, Colorado has been considering paper and packaging stewardship legislation this session (HB 22-1355). Governor Polis signed the bill into law last Friday. This is the third paper and packaging bill enacted in the country, following Maine and Oregon last year. California is also considering its own versions of this legislation this session, as was New York, but its version has died without being enacted. ISPA is tracking these efforts to determine what impact these new laws may have on mattress manufacturers.
