ISPA’s Statistics Committee has released the 2022 fall forecast for the U.S. mattress market, which covers the calendar years 2022 through 2024.
Based in part on an economic analysis prepared by the University of Michigan and input from the ISPA Statistics Committee, the consensus view is that the wholesale value of the Total U.S. Mattress Market (U.S.-Produced & Imports) will decrease in 2022 but increase in both 2023 and 2024.
For 2022, the forecast shows a 3.0% decrease in the wholesale value of mattress shipments and an 11.0% decrease in units shipped. For 2023, the forecast anticipates a 1.5% increase in both the value of mattress shipments and in units shipped. For 2024 the forecast anticipates an increase in both the wholesale value of mattress shipments and units shipped by 5.5% and 2.5% respectively.
The forecast also contains timely economic and market analyses provided by Jerry Epperson, of Mann, Armistead & Epperson, Ltd., and Ashraf Abdul Mohsen of Association Research Inc.
