A bill has been introduced in Mississippi (MS HB 412) that would require any mattress containing secondhand filling material to display a tag notifying the consumer that the mattress is used or that certain specified materials contained in the mattress are secondhand. Additionally, the tag would be required to describe the filling materials of the mattress containing secondhand material and, if a used unit, make a good-faith effort to describe the original date of manufacture for a used mattress. Mississippi currently has no registration or mattress labeling requirements.
