The Mattress Recycling Council submitted a revised mattress recycling plan to the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) on Feb. 26. DEQ has 45 days to review the plan. If approved, the program will begin within 7 months.

MRC continues to visit potential collection sites throughout Oregon that would form the framework for the collection network. As in our three other states, the Oregon program will also provide free transportation and recycling for large quantities of discarded mattresses from commercial volume sources like retailers, hotels, healthcare facilities, military bases and colleges. The revised Oregon plan includes a detailed budget.
