The United States Maritime Alliance (USMX) and the International Longshoremen’s Association (ILA) may not reach an agreement on their current contract that expires September 30th, opening the door for a strike at East Coast and Gulf Coast ports beginning October 1, 2024.

Given the dire economic consequences of a potential strike, ISPA joined hundreds of other trade associations in signing a letter that urges the Biden Administration to support contract negotiations to avoid a strike.

ISPA will keep you apprised of any significant developments on this matter.
