As ISPA Previously reported, flawed mattress recycling legislation was introduced this January in New York. Unexpectedly, NY S 1463 was advanced from the New York Senate Environmental Conservation Committee and reported to the New York Senate Finance Committee. ISPA submitted this memo of opposition in advance of the closed-door Senate Environmental Conservation Committee hearing.  

This is the first step in many for this bill in the legislative process in New York. As in 2024, ISPA member participation will be key in ensuring this flawed legislation is defeated.
