On February 10th, President Trump issued proclamations announcing adjustments to tariffs on steel and aluminum. These actions modify steel and aluminum tariffs that he had originally imposed in 2018 to end all country exemptions, phase out the specific product exclusion process, and include additional downstream steel and aluminum products to the tariffs’ coverage. In addition, the proclamation included a new exemption process for imported derivative articles made from steel “melted and poured” and aluminum “smelted and cast” in the United States.

ISPA will continue to monitor tariffs that impact the mattress industry and provide members with updates as this rapidly developing situation evolves.
