Maryland Broad PFAS bill
Maryland HB 1112, which would enact the broadest PFAS ban in consumer products in the United States, is scheduled for a hearing in the Maryland House Judiciary Committee on March 5, 2025. The bill would ban a person from manufacturing, selling, or distributing any consumer product that contains PFAS effective 7/1/2026. Importantly, the bill lacks vital language to limit the ban to “intentionally added” PFAS and is subsequently overly broad. ISPA signed onto this Coalition letter of opposition to voice our industry’s concerns.
