S&P Global Flash U.S. Manufacturing PMI Shows Increase in Manufacturing Activity
According to the National Association of Manufacturers’ (NAM) Monday Economic Report for this week, the S&P Global Flash U.S. Manufacturing PMI showed an increase in manufacturing activity in May, rising from 50.2 in April to 52.3. Many economists predicted the manufacturing sector to soften this month, but they were proven wrong with this report. However, there is concern as pricing components surged in the month on both the input and output, with manufacturers pointing to the impact of tariffs on operating conditions and inflation.
