ISPA actively advocates at the federal, state, and local levels, representing the mattress industry’s interests before legislators, regulators, and other stakeholders to foster a supportive regulatory environment and positive public perception. ISPA’s 2025 Advocacy Report, which describes these efforts, is now available! 

In 2025, ISPA closely monitored 240 bills across 37 states and D.C., as well as 7 federal bills. The 2025 report contains details about the 7 states that considered mattress extended producer responsibility (EPR) legislation in 2025 and ISPA’s efforts to work towards stakeholder alignment on this important issue. Additionally, ISPA’s efforts on a range of issues that affect the mattress industry, including flame retardants, chemical restrictions, sustainability, and trade, are described in the report.
