ISPA has partnered with Purdue University’s Sustainability Engineering and Environmental Engineering (EEE) program to develop a value chain map assessment for the mattress industry. This project is being completed by EEE seniors as part of their capstone design requirement, giving our industry a unique opportunity to benefit from their academic expertise and fresh perspectives. The project will highlight opportunities for the industry to improve its environmental footprint and uncover opportunities for ISPA to support those efforts. 

This project is strongly supported by ISPA’s Sustainability Committee, a diverse group of bedding suppliers and manufacturers that advises ISPA’s Board of Trustees on advancing sustainability across the sleep products industry. Through its consistent engagement in shaping this project, the Committee has emphasized that broad industry participation and input are essential to ensure the assessment reflects today’s mattress industry.
