Packaging EPR Reporting Deadlines Fast Approaching
Circular Action Alliance (CAA), the Producer Responsibility Organization (PRO) implementing packaging extended producer responsibility (EPR) laws, has indicated that the six states it currently administers (CA, CO, OR, MN, MD, WA) have packaging reporting deadlines on May 31, 2026. Notably, the scope and content of what obligated producers must report vary by state. While California, Colorado, and Oregon will require full reporting of 2025 packaging supply data, Minnesota, Maryland, and Washington require more limited reporting. Companies that sell packaged products under their brand names are likely to have obligations under these state laws.
With multiple state packaging EPR laws beginning their initial reporting phase, ISPA encourages its members to confirm whether they are an obligated producer for each of these 6 states. For their compliance needs, ISPA encourages its members to visit the website for Circular Action Alliance (CAA). Please contact ISPA’s GA Team (Alison Keane, Shawn Swearingen, and Marty Salamone) if you have any questions.
