ISPA has partnered with the Purdue University School of Sustainability Engineering and Environmental Engineering (SEE) within the program of Environmental and Ecological Engineering (EEE) program to develop a value chain map assessment for the mattress industry. Students in the EEE program have taken this on as their Senior Design Project, a requirement for graduation. For this value chain map assessment, the students will map the inputs and outputs within the mattress industry. This provides insight into where sustainability risks and opportunities in the mattress industry are concentrated. The assessment will identify opportunities for the industry to improve its environmental footprint and opportunities for ISPA to support those efforts.
