Recycled Materials Attribution Act Introduced
A bipartisan group of lawmakers introduced U.S. H.R. 7502, also known as the Recycled Materials Attribution Act (RMMA), which would establish clear federal standards for recycling and recycled content marketing claims. A uniform federal standard for these claims would reduce consumer confusion about what materials can be recycled and create regulatory certainty for businesses. If enacted, the bill would also direct the Federal Trade Commission to update its Green Guides to conform to the RMAA.
The RMMA is backed by the Recycling Leadership Council (RLC), which ISPA joined earlier this year. For more information, read RLC’s press release on the RMMA.
